Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program

The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program is a federally funded program administered by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Services Agency and in Ohio, by the Ohio Department of Aging. ODA provides additional state funds to support SFMNP operation within Ohio. The AAA enters into a Grant Agreement with ODA to administer SFMNP within their
planning and service region. The SFMNP provides low-income older adults with coupons to purchase eligible, locally grown produce at farmers’ markets and roadside stands.

Area Agency on Aging, Region 9 is offering the program in Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Muskingum, and Tuscarawas counties. In 2023, the program will run from May 1 through November 30th. For eligibility and enrollment information, please contact the senior center in the county you reside in. If you are a farmer or market manager looking to be able to accept SFMNP coupons, please contact the provider management team at 1-800-945-4250.
