Audrey Hanni (RAC Representative to Board)

The Board of Trustees is composed of volunteers offering their governing services for the benefit of the community. The Board endeavors to have representation from each county that we serve. The number of representatives may vary from county to county when deemed to be in the best interests of the AAA9.
The Board administers the Area Agency on Aging and Area Plan, under the law & regulations of the Older Americans Act, the rules & policies of the Ohio Department on Aging (ODA) and the laws of the State of Ohio, for the benefit of older adults & the communities in Planning & Service Area 9, including the Ohio counties of Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Muskingum, and Tuscarawas.
In other words the Board of Trustees "owns" the AAA9, with all members being volunteers from local communities serving without financial compensation. The Board strives to be representative of the nine counties AAA9 serves and to maintain a balanced variety of professional backgrounds & life experiences, in order to best govern the AAA9. The Board typically has 10-15 members and operates under an internal Code of Regulations. The Board's primary focus is on general policy and overall direction, with a close eye on the fiscal accountability of the organization. The only employee selected by the Board is the Executive Director/CEO, who manages the day-to-day operations and is responsible for the other 70 or more employees.
