AAA9 is one of the largest non-industrial employers in the area, currently employing over 72 people including
24 Registered Nurses and 20 Licensed Social Workers in its professional staff. AAA9 staff directly serves over
2,000 case-managed clients and assists over 32,000 more older adults through contracts and grant programs. Its annual budget includes over $21 million in local, state and federal funds, including Medicaid Homecare Waiver monies, Older Americans Act and State Senior Services Block Grants. AAA9’s service area covers 9 counties: Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Muskingum, and Tuscarawas counties. AAA9 staff travel approximately 300,000 miles per year conducting assessments and home visits throughout its
service area.

Area Agencies throughout Ohio

  • Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) respond to the needs of older adults as advocates, planners and funders. AAAs provide education, information and referral services. AAAs work with the public and private sectors to help older adults with home and community-based long-term care.

    Ohio has 12 AAAs that cumulatively represent all 88 counties. There are 670 AAAs nationwide.  Ohio AAAs are designated by the Ohio Department of Aging.
