Our agency at a glance.
The Area Agency on Aging Region 9, Inc. first opened its doors in Cambridge in 1975 as a non profit Section 501(c)(3) organization. We are designated by the Ohio Department of Aging as one of America's nearly 700 Area Agencies on Aging. We serve a nine county area from Zanesville to Millersburg, Dover to Steubenville and St. Clairsville to Cambridge. Our staff currently includes 69 full-time employees. We directly serve over 1,700 case managed consumers and assist over 30,000 more older adults through contracts and grant programs. Our budget includes over $20 million in local, state, and federal funds including Medicaid homecare waiver monies, Older Americans Act and State Senior Services Block Grants.

Advocates Wanted!
If you are concerned about older adults sign up to be an aging advocate. A few times a year, AAA9 will issue an Advocacy Awareness Notice regarding legislation or budget bills that will effect older adults. As an advocate, you agree to contact the appropriate elected officials regarding the issues that concern you. That’s it. Your contact information will not be used for any other purpose.
